How do I access published dissertations or thesis?
Answer
While there are many places to locate citations for thesis and dissertation, the best place to locate the full text of these documents is the ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Premium database. You can search by author, title, or a subject and then limit to Dissertations & Theses under the Source Type (see screen shot image). Most of the dissertations are full text but there may be some that include an abstract or 24-page preview only.
One can also search the following database sources for dissertation citations, including some with full text content:
- Google Scholar
- SuperSearch (searches all our databases, limit to dissertations/theses under publication type)
- PQDT Open
- ERIC (education content)
- EBSCO Open Dissertations
- American Doctoral Dissertations
- WorldCat Dissertations
- Virginia Henderson Global Nursing e-Repository (works created by nurses)
- ScholarWorks for Clarkson College (Institutional Respository for the college community)
See the list of A-Z databases. If you need more assistance tracking down a specific dissertation, please ask a librarian for assistance or submit an Article Request Form and we will try our best to obtain it for you.
